My Story
Back in 2015, I started Poquillo as an Etsy shop (yes, really! 😹) while dreaming of something bigger. But just like you might be feeling right now, I was stuck in that overthinking loop, constantly wondering if I was “expert enough” to start a real business.
Everything changed when a mentor sat me down for what I call a “no tiene que ser complicado” conversation. We broke down every single fear I had about entrepreneurship until I realized—none of my reasons for holding back were actually valid! They were just stories I was telling myself.
This breakthrough gave me the courage to say “yes” to opportunities I would have normally talked myself out of: bookkeeping, tax preparation, becoming a notary public, working as an executive assistant—all while keeping my day job. Each little “yes” built my confidence muscle a little stronger.
Why This Blog Exists
I started noticing something about my circle of amigas. They kept saying things like:
“I need more experience first…”
“Maybe after I get one more certification…”
“I’m not qualified enough yet…”
“What if it doesn’t work out?”
And I was like, wait a minute! 🤔 From where I was standing, I could see SO clearly that these were just stories in their heads. They didn’t need more fancy credentials—they needed to believe in themselves and take that first step.
In 2023, when I started sharing what I’d learned on this blog, something amazing happened—women started reaching out saying “Girl, I need this in my life! Can you help me get unstuck?”
